Conference “How We Are Warming in the Age of Global Warming”
In October, the city of Brasov had the honor of hosting the second edition of the conference “How we are warming in the era of global warming”. This event was organized with the support of the Royal Embassy of Denmark and the Danish Board of District Heating (DBDH). The conference brought together leaders from the fields of energy, public administration and industry, all with a common goal: to find solutions to the growing challenges of climate change and the energy transition.

Presence of Reputable Officials and Experts
Among the brand invitees were His Excellency, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark, Uffe Balslev, and Pia Zimmermann, representative of DBDH. Also present were Ramona Moldovan, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy, Valeriu Steriu from ANRE, as well as representatives of the town halls of important cities such as Brasov, Sector 6 in Bucharest and Ploiești. These leaders, together with cogeneration experts and members of COGEN Romania and DBDH, were part of a valuable debate on the future of urban heating systems.

COGEN Europe Vision
COGEN Europe President Hans Korteweg and Alexandra Tudoroiu, Head of Policy, stressed the importance of cogeneration and international collaboration in identifying effective solutions globally. They presented the latest legislative changes, highlighting how essential the close cooperation between COGEN Romania and COGEN Europe is in promoting cogeneration as an efficient and sustainable solution.
Innovation and Modernization
The Danish delegation made significant contributions by presenting the latest solutions and innovative technologies. These innovations are essential for the modernization of central heating systems in Romania, thus helping to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Legislative Challenges and Opportunities
One of the key themes discussed at the conference was the need for clear and coherent legislation, both national and for urgent transposition of European legislation. Such legislation is vital to support the development and implementation of cogeneration solutions, which can bring significant benefits in combating climate change and achieving neutrality.
A Joint Effort for the Future
The conference “How we are warming in the era of global warming” strengthened its role as a platform for dialogue between experts and authorities. The event highlighted the importance of a joint effort towards a sustainable energy future in Romania. Here, cogeneration has been highlighted as a viable solution to current challenges, thus encouraging national and international collaboration, contributing to the transformation of the energy sector into an adaptable and innovative one.
