SMART CITY EXPO & WORLD CONGRESS 2023

In the November edition November 7-9, 2023of the event Smart City Expo & World Congress (SCEWC), Romania participated through the largest delegation present at such a congress. The delegation organized by the Romanian Smart City Association (ARSC) and the Commercial Service of the US Embassy in Bucharest, with a total of 35 professionals representing a wide spectrum of institutions and interests, joined the international dialogue on smart urban planning and sustainable development.

Mr. Claudiu Crețu attended the event as a member of the official delegation.

Smart City Expo&World Congress is the world's largest and most influential event for cities and urban innovation. Each year, the event brings together leaders from the most innovative companies, governments and organizations to set the trend of cities towards a better future. The primary goal is to bring together ideas, expertise, successful cases on urban innovation from around the globe and empower cities to meet the critical challenges facing the world today.

Energy and Environmentwere one of the topics addressed during the event in the context of the effects of climate change and the energy crisis. Innovative approaches and effective technological solutions to have resilient cities and critical infrastructures were brought to the attention of participants. The theme of alternative energy sources, decarbonisation of industries and urban circularity were addressed as important components for achieving this objective.

The industry's most representative event Smart City has been an important source of inspiration for leaders around the world. It was an opportune event for the study of current urban technologies and to be able to establish a starting point and outline strategic thinking that could facilitate approaches to the development and implementation of solutions through which centralized heating systems contribute sustainably to the community.
